Our Favorite Teacher

Dear Ms. Birkheimer,

I wanted to take a moment to express how much of an impact you’ve had on me and so many other students throughout your teaching career. From the first day I had you in 10th grade to our last trimester together in 11th, your kindness, patience, and dedication to your students made such a difference.

You have this amazing ability to make everyone feel seen and heard, no matter their background or struggles. Your classroom was always a place where we felt comfortable expressing ourselves, whether it was through writing, discussions, or simply asking for advice. You encouraged us to think critically and pushed us to be the best versions of ourselves, both academically and personally. You didn’t just teach English—you taught life lessons that will stay with us forever.

I also want to thank you for putting up with me, Kiana, and a few others who made your class a little too loud at times! I’m sure we must have annoyed you with all our energy, but you handled it with patience and always managed to make us feel welcome and appreciated.

Your sweet nature and genuine care for every single one of your students are things I will never forget. I know I speak for many when I say that your warmth and understanding made school feel like a second home. You’ve helped countless students grow in confidence, believe in themselves, and realize their full potential. We will always miss you, and you will always be our favorite English teacher.

As you move on to your next adventure in your detective career, I have no doubt that you will bring the same dedication, compassion, and strength to that role as you did to teaching. While we’ll miss you in the classroom, I am incredibly excited for you and know you will be amazing in this new chapter of your life.

Thank you, Ms. Birkheimer, for being such a wonderful teacher and mentor. I wish you all the success and happiness in the world, and I know that you’ll continue to make a difference in whatever path you take.

Sincerely,
Anmol Bhatta
